当我们一股劲冲进国民经济GDP 总量为世界第二大经济体时，许多问题不断地向我们迎面袭来。现代化建设在规模、速度、效益的巨大压力下，建设环境的同时不知不觉又在破坏环境。尊重自然发展规则，提高实际高效益，提升环境景观品质，提纯景观环境文化内涵，是当今中国景观建设发展过程中专家学者和政府都很关注的前沿问题。
  中国景观设计是多元的，有侧重于园林绿化设计，有侧重于环境设计，有侧重于建筑外空间设计，有侧重于环境设施设计等等。参与者是多层面的，专业倾向是多方面的，设计范畴较广，涉及领域较多而各有优势。不管什么样的景观设计，首先要以人为本，遵循自然法则，不违背这个法则，核心是生态，目的是可持续。
  高质量的景观设计是高品质景观建设的基本保障。如何达到高品质的景观设计？汲取各方面的精华，多角度研讨、碰撞，是个不错的方式。来之荷兰、德国、日本、中国的设计大师和学者专家及与会各位代表，就第三届中国环境艺术设计国际研讨会的主题在景观设计与生态及未来进行了多层次，多视角地深入探讨，把大家真知灼见汇编成册，是会议主办者的职责。研讨会前后期间，会议主持人与几位专家就各自关心的问题进行探讨，双方研讨范围涉及较广，节选部分与会议主题有关的对话内容刊载本集中，以飨读者。
  东华大学历次中国环境艺术设计国际学术研讨会能够圆满召开和会议论文集的顺利出版，与各位同仁、各位专家学者和编辑们鼎力支持及辛劳是分不开的，值此论文集出版一并致以由衷感谢。
